Evening Art Classes
‘Learn the rules like a pro, so you can break them like an artist.’ Pablo Picasso
‘Every artist was first an amateur.’ Ralph Waldo Emerson
‘Art enables us to find ourselves and lose ourselves at the same time.’ Thomas Merton
‘Creativity is contagious pass it on.’ Albert Einstein
‘I want to put a ding in the Universe.’ Steve Jobs
A woman carrying a young child came into the gallery Wednesday with the purpose of seeing Angela’s mosaics. I asked her if she knew ‘what we do here?’ She had no idea of the variety of opportunities that the PBAA offered to its members. After describing the individual groups to participate in, she frowned and said, ‘I work during the day.’ I introduced the idea of the evening classes that was formed for those individuals, such as herself, that cannot get involved in any of the groups and have no prior art education. The 2019 evening classes, starting with Drawing, are designed to introduce materials and techniques for beginners. She responded with a wry smile, ‘After coming home from work every day, I feed my family, watch TV and go to bed. I need something else just for me.’ Will she come back and become a member, who knows. But there are a lot of people in our community who are hungry for creative outlets.
Let them know about our 2019 evening classes. You are PBAA’s ambassadors.
