Kathy Huxley
Kathy Huxley is a local artist whose favorite medium is oil. Her love for art began at an early age. Kathy remembers drawing portraits of the neighborhood kids and her family while growing up. She studied art in California at Ventura College and at the University of California at Santa Barbara. She enjoys plein air painting, portraits, figurative, landscapes and most recently still lifes. Kathy's narrative paintings are an exploration of multiple views of space with elements of Christian symbolism.
Her work has shown at galleries in Crescent City, Brookings and Gold Beach. Kathy can be found most Tuesdays painting at the Manley Art Center in Brookings with her friends. She loves to set up still lifes and paint from life. Kathy's photos of the Oregon coast are also inspiration for her landscape paintings.
