Chetco Photography Association (CPA), is a group of like-minded people who gather together to share their love of photography. The club consists of members from beginner to professional that meet on a regular basis to share their work and knowledge of photography. The only criterion for joining CPA is an interest in photography and being a member of PBAA.
The day meetings are the first and third Friday of each month from 10 am until noon. The evening meetings are the second and fourth Wednesday of each month from 6:30 pm until 8:30 pm. At each meeting there is a challenge topic and a composition topic. Up to seven photos by each member are submitted to share at the meetings. Critiques are only given if asked for.
Once a month we share “Impression Photos” that are done during the month. Impression Photos are done by starting with one photo. That photo is sent to another member to take a photo using the “impression” they received from that photo. Then the second photo is sent to another member and so on. At the end of the month these photos are shown to the group. It is always fun to see where the photos took each person.
At the next meeting of the month there is a demo on a photography topic. These demos are done by volunteers who either know about that particular topic or are willing to do the research. That topic becomes a challenge for another meeting.
New members are always welcome at the meetings. There are many people who join to share their photography and there are others who join to learn to take better photos to use for their paintings. We encourage you to give us a try. It is always a lot of fun and a good learning experience.
